At the current juncture between the virtual and the real, it is still astonishing to see how mural painting can change a space in a matter of days. However, despite the rise of large-format art in cities around the world, it seems difficult to find works interacting with a specific environment. Generally, urban artists prioritise personal discourse over responding to the questions presented by the architecture they intervene. Boundwallz is an artistic project that uses context-integrated mural painting to recompose urban breaks that would otherwise take a long time and costly means to be modified. The goal is to use art to enhance the architecture and character of iconic places with contemporary artistic reinterpretations.
